Red Headband

Here's yet another pattern to use up some spare wool. Only took me about an hour to do.
You will find the pattern here http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/headbangers I just made mine thinner as thick ones never sit on my head right at the back, always crawl up my head, lol.

Big Bow Headband

I loved making this, it was really quick and easy. Another pattern I did to use up my spare wool.

Hand Like a Hole by Vikkie Howell

This is a pattern from Vikkie Howell. I change it by putting lace effect on the side of these armwarmers. Pattern can be found here http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hand-like-a-hole

Making Yarn from Curtains Part 4

2 massive balls later and still lots of material to get through. Think that I shall leave the rest in bags to do on a later date as I have these 2 to play with.

Joining the fabric to make yarn

Here is how to join the pieces together.

First cut a slit at the end of the first piece.
Then cut into both ends of the next piece.
Thread the second piece through the first slit.
Then thread the end of the second piece through the first slit of the second piece of fabric.
Pull the second piece until it all joins together. Hopefully these pictures will help.

Making Yarn from Curtains Part 3

And here is the first ball started. I slit each end of a piece of fabric and slott them together to make a chain and so on. Takes forever and ever and ever........

Making yarn from curtains Part 2

I've cut 1 inch strips from the material. Took forever and ever, but here it is all cut up. Now I need to join the strands together and make balls!

Making Yarn from Curtains Part 1

I've decided that I want to make my own yarn out of some old curtains that I have stored away that I am probably never going to hang up as they are not really my style and don't go with the decor that I am wanting to do the living-rooms in. I think that I should be able to make at least 4 decent sized rugs out of them. 1 for each living-room and 1 for the foot of the 2 double-sized beds that I have. I will post my progress on making these into yarn and of the projects that I use them for.

Here is the curtain in full form. It has a cream
lining that I am going to use as yarn too. Will take me quite a while as the curtains are 90" drop!

I cut off the hems and the borders. I also cut the lining away from the patterned curtain material as you can see from the pic.

Wish me look.

Night of Change - Poem

Night of Change in Poetry of Darkness Volume I

He took me that night; the night the moon was bright

He came into my room; cast a shadow of gloom

He was dark and mysterious; the look on his face so serious

He came over to where I lay; picked me up and led me away

I had dreamed about him many times; dark and gloomy sometimes

He came to me every night it seemed; my tears of his leaving streamed

He said the same thing to me; together forever we will be

He had come for me on this eve; him I gratefully receive

In his arms I flew through the night; my body did start to excite

He had an aura about him; seeming inside so awfully grim

He took me to a place; corpses lie in disgrace

He placed me down on a cloth; feelings inside started to froth

He laid beside me so cold; my emotions inside uncontrolled

In the depths of his eyes I stared; the light inside him flared

He turned to me and spoke; your beauty I will evoke

He kissed me then so gently; although it was felt differently

He held onto me for some time; my veins seemed to climb

He let go of me and looked me in the eye; I knew I was to die

In the room with the corpses I died; the end I was denied

He grinned at me upon my re-birth; for evil he had to unearth

He had turned me into one like him; I could hear a death hymn

He was singing to me; knowing what I was to be

He took hold of my cold hand; now I did understand

I had been turned into a thing of the night; much to his delight

He had created a mistress of dark; my throat there laid the mark

He was here for eternity and more; now he had me for ever more

He was the man of my dreams; silly now it seems

He was the one I wanted so bad; enough to drive me mad

I was one of his kind; darkness I was confined

He showed me what we needed; my first test I succeeded

He watched me draw first blood; my eyes with tears they flood

He comforted me with words; words that felt like the wings of birds

He took care of me ever and always; as we glided through many hallways

I killed with ferocity and greed; I pleased him indeed

We roam the night together now killing; our satisfaction never fulfilling.

Zombie Terror - Poem

As you may know, or not know. I write poetry, novels and short stories. I have 6 books published so far. You can get more info here :-

Anyway here is a poem, it is of the horror genre of course!

Zombie Terror

by ~catrinalawrence

You created me for yourself,
To work for you, for free.
You thought that I would obey,
When you brought me back from death.

Now I come for you as I'm hungry,
That mistake you didn't know.
Now I hunger for your flesh,
Tear you apart I will prevail.

You lie there with a smile on your face,
Thinking of the money that I'm making you.
Whilst I stand here watching over you,
Thinking of what you must taste like.

I wake you up with a shove of a shoulder,
Waking you up you look up at me.
With confusion on your face,
What joy it is to see that look on your face.

Now you move as I come at you,
With biting teeth and growling insides.
Now I bite and blood runs free,
Trickling down my throat so hot.

Now I watch as the life leaves your eyes,
Seeing the terror upon them that I have caused.
How much of a pleasure it was,
To be doing business with you!

Never-ending

Me and my partner Craig have recently moved into our new home. We need a lot of work doing to it and so far we have done a lot. But it does seem never ending. We start one job and find five more....

I will add pics and progress as we go along.

Here are my cats!

Say hello to Ghost and Baby, my cats!
Arn't they stunning!
Ghost is the slightly dirty, big male and baby is the small, fluffy cute one.
This is a Jumper pattern that I did from the magazine Let's Knit! Issue 18, May 2010.
Above is a close-up of the flower pin. I changed the colours from the one's the magazine uses. It was rather easy to do, I loved the twisted rib on the coller, cuffs and waistband.

Some items that I have knitted and crocheted.

This is a crochet top that I have done and loved as it was really easy and fast to do. Unfortunately it was from a really old magazine that has fallen apart and I can't use it anymore.

This is a baby blanket that I have knitted.

This is a favorite bag pattern that I loved doing as it is made in the round and knits up very quickly. You will probably find that I will add more pictures of these in different colours.
